David Ellefson, cofounder of Megadeth and absolute bass legend, took the stage with a killer lineup to perform Countdown to Extinction front to back. And they delivered.
Backed by Andy Martongelli, Alessio Palizzi, Mattia Fagiolo, and Walter Cianciusi, the band sounded razor-sharp, tight riffs, soaring solos, and a wall of sound that hit hard from start to finish.
Let’s be honest, when a former member revisit iconic material, expectations are sky-high. You want that sound. And they nailed it.
Mattia Fagiolo brought raw power and grit, owning every track with a voice that felt both authentic and explosive.
And then there’s Ellefson himself, the man behind some of metal’s most legendary bass lines. You just knew Peace Sells had to be played… and when it dropped in the encore, it hit exactly how it should.
The energy in the room was unreal. A packed crowd, every lyric shouted back, every riff recognized. The band clearly fed off it, and gave it right back.
For a venue tucked away like this, it felt anything but small. Huge shoutout to the sound engineer, every note, every instrument crystal clear without ever getting harsh. Absolute perfection.
